SUPERIOR, Neb. -- Vergie Rose Howe, 89, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009. She was born April 13, 1920, in Summerfield, Kan. Preceded in death by: son-in-law, John Berry; and two great-grandsons. Survivors: husband, Elmer; daughters, Ruby Burge (Dale), Twila Berry and Donna Jurgena (Mark); sons, Richard (Barb) and Wayne (Pat); brothers, Clifford and Galen Johnston; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
