WICHITA -- Caroline DeLaCruz Moreno, 47, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010, in Wichita. Caroline was born Oct. 31, 1962, in Stamford, Texas, the daughter of Ysidoro and Mary DeLaCruz Moreno.
RAPID CITY, S.D. -- Genevieve Gray left this world the way she lived in it for 93 years: gently, and with courage, serenity and grace. She died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at a local nursing home. Genevieve Seymour was born May 29, 1916, in Salina, Kan., to Estella Harbison and Erve Seymour. PRATT -- Andrew G. Klaus, 81, of Pratt, formerly of Victoria and Hays, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Survivors: sons, Earl, of Ness City, Ralph (Annette), of Wichita, and Pete (Karen), of Victoria; sisters, Linda Covey (Justin), of Dodge City, and Diane Fakir (Zak), of Goddard; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Verlyn C. Maddy, of Salina, formerly of Stockton, died Friday, March 19, 2010. HEBRON, Neb. -- Marita A. "Rita" Parsons, 77, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, in Lincoln. She was born Feb. 15, 1933, in Hebron. SYLVAN GROVE -- Margaret A. Rippie, 88, of Sylvan Grove, died Friday, March 19, 2010. GLADE -- E. Arlene Shields, 70, died Thursday, March 18, 2010. She was born July 31, 1939, in Gilmer, Texas, to Frank D. and Edith E. (Lang) Miller. Survivors include her husband, Richard "Dick," of the home; adopted son, J.W. Vandiever, of Tuttle, Okla.; brother, Frank D. Miller, of Florida; sister-in-law, Roberta McCall, of McPherson; two stepgrandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren. She will lie in state from noon to 9 p.m. today and Sunday at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 22, at the funeral chapel. HADDAM -- Jeaane Arbuthnot, 88, of Haddam, died Thursday, March 18, 2010. WICHITA -- Thelma L. Brotton, 91, died Thursday, March 18, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave, and a grandson. CLYDE -- Rose M. Harper, 94, of Clyde, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010, in Salina. She was born Sept. 9, 1915, in St. Joe. HOPE -- Lila Lorene Harrison, 79, died Thursday, March 18, 2010. She was born Dec. 17, 1930, in Ramona to Paul and Verla Jury. Preceded in death: husband, William "Bill"; son, Gary; and brother, Duane Jury. Survivors: son, Douglas (Nancy), of Hope; daughter, Linda Blackwell, of Salina; brother, Paul Jury Jr., of Chapman; sisters, Phyllis Rowe, of Abilene, and Jewell Starburg, of Junction City; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. GARDEN CITY -- Winona M. Holzmeister, 97, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Survivors: daughters, Barbara McKenna, of Garden City, and Beth Commerford, of Shawnee; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death: husband, Thomas; sister, Mildred Williams; and three stillborn infants.
MESA, Ariz. -- Patricia Ann "Tricia" Lehman Jocelyn, 66, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at her home in Mesa. She was born March 19, 1943, in Abilene, Kan., to John and Vivian Lehman. PLAINVILLE -- Patty L. Kramer, 70, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010. STOCKTON -- Lee Phelps, 86, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010. He was born Oct. 11, 1923, in Beatrice, Neb. On Nov. 27, 1946, Lee married Ruth Mae Wiebe. RUSSELL -- Elizabeth J. "Betty" Ploutz, 73, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010. She was born March 10, 1937, in Ellis. FULLERTON, Calif. -- Barbara Rueb Schumaker, 63, of Fullerton, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at St. Jude Hospital, Fullerton, after a long battle with cancer. SAN ANTONIO -- Margaret Louise Tillberg, 90, of San Antonio, formerly of Salina, Kan., died Wednesday, March 17, 2010. RUSSELL -- Vera Mae (Prediger) Wanek, 85, of Russell, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Hays Medical Center in Hays. WICHITA -- Richard S. "Rick" Fresh, 62, died Thursday, March 18, 2010. He was born in Wichita to Merwin and Betty (Bartholomew) Fresh. CLYDE -- Marie Rose Harper, 94, of Clyde, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010.
Irene Hummel, 93, of Salina, died Monday, March 15, 2010. She was born March 15, 1917, in Sylvan Grove. Irene was a homemaker to her family, worked in the Solomon school cafeteria and did housecleaning, volunteer work for nursing homes in Salina and for Birthright. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters.
DENTON, Texas -- Edna Earle "June" Curts, 79, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010. June was born July 4, 1930, in Harrisburg, Ill., the daughter of William and Tera LeMaster Witten. She married the love of her life, Gene Curts, and they were happily married for 50 years until his passing in 2007. SMITH CENTER -- Adam Deichert, 81, died March 16, 2010. HILLSBORO -- Thelma Kobilan, 79, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010. PLAINVILLE -- Patty L. Kramer, 70, of Plainville, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010. MARION -- Josephine "Jody" L.
